Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes: Trailside Lodging at Watson's
Stay minutes from one of America's great paved trails. Ride all day, come back to real beds, hot showers, and garden-to-table dining on Rose Lake.
About the Trail
The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is a 73.2-mile paved recreation trail stretching from Mullan to Plummer through the heart of Northern Idaho. Built on a former Union Pacific railroad corridor, the trail follows rivers, lakes, and wetlands through some of the most scenic terrain in the Pacific Northwest. The surface is smooth, nearly flat, and fully paved — ideal for road cyclists, casual riders, walkers, families, and wheelchair users. With over 140,000 visitors each year, it is one of the premier rail-trails in the United States.
Watson's Lakefront Resort sits near the Cataldo trailhead, roughly at the midpoint of the trail. That makes it a natural base camp for multi-day rides, out-and-back day trips in either direction, or anyone looking to combine trail time with lakefront relaxation.
